There is no point in playing with the idle screw right now because there is way too much play in the throttle cable to keep the engine from shutting off when the throttle is released. I have a 79 Honda z50r with a lifan 125cc and I got new throttle cables which seem to be way too long and I can only get it to open the carb about 1/8 of fully open. I tried to adjust the throttle and idle cables per the instructions in the manual (for cruise-equipped bike) but I cannot get all the slack out of the idle cable.
